Have a Dell PE T310 with a Perc 6/i Raid Controller configured as a (3) Disk Raid (5). Raid has been configured and disks are recognized. The disk presently has two partitions. The system has no OS, I am attempting to load Windows 2008 R2 from original install DVD's. The install process reaches the point where it realizes there are no Perc 6/i drivers, the install halts and prompts to load drivers. I am having a problem finding the correct drivers and/or method to load the drivers during the install. I have located, on the Dell website, under the Service Tag of the T310 Server, several versions of what it refers to as firmware updates to the 6/i controller. I have navigated deeper into the Dell download pages and found file or files that are referred to as 6/i Adapter drivers, which is what I think I need.

DELL PERC 6/i Integrated RAID-Controller driver is a windows driver. Common questions for DELL PERC 6/i Integrated RAID-Controller driver Q: Where can I download the DELL PERC 6/i Integrated RAID-Controller driver's driver?
I have down loaded, extracted the adapter drivers to a flash drive and then inserted the flash drive in the server at the appropriate time (when being prompted for drivers), browsed to the flash drive and executed an install only to have the system search the media for the compatible drivers and reports that it finds no compatible drivers. I have tried this same approach using the firmware updates with the same results. Can I assume I am not finding the correct drivers or, is my method of loading them during the install incorrect? I should also point out that the server is out of Dell warranty so they are not anxious to assist, but I did in a chat, get the Dell tech to send me links to two of their web pages, one was for the actual drivers to the 6/i controller, which I downloaded and extracted to a flash drive. These I believe are adapter drivers but I have had no success at getting them to install from the flash drive during the OS install. The second link is to page that provides instruction on the down load of a Nautilus Firmware Update Utility. This download creates bootable media, either flash drive or DVD. As I understand this utility it determines which Perc controller you have and will update the system with the compatible drivers. This is where I really get confused, because when I boot after creation of the bootable media it runs and then reports there is no OS. Which there isn't an OS installed because that is what I am trying to accomplish.
